Understated Gowns

It’s often said that ‘less is more’ and we definitely agree… especially when it comes the flawless designs you’re going to see in this blog!

Though they’re lovely details, intricate lace, complex beadwork and huge trains just aren’t everybody’s cup of tea. Sometimes sleek lines, floaty silhouettes and minimalistic designs are a refreshing and welcome change.

Sheath Silhouette – A sheath silhouette is so dreamy, we actually dedicated a whole blog to them (click here to see it!) It’s graceful and elegant, creating effortless beauty. The classy but casual feel of a sheath silhouette is perfect for a bride wanting to be subtle, whilst still making a statement.

Plain – the definition of ‘plain’ is “clear or distinct to the eye…” and its synonyms don’t include ‘boring,’ ‘frumpy’ or ‘ugly.’ A ‘plain’ dress or at least a plain skirt is easy on the eye, making you look regal and serene.

Waist Details – To have an understated gown doesn’t mean it cannot have any detail at all. We adore designs that are simple but feature a belt or other detail on the waist. Highlighting your waist is flattering and feminine!

Let’s see these favourable features in action…

(6717 | Bonny Love | Fall 2017) – Slinky and sexy, this simple design is perfect for confident brides. Its plunging neckline and spaghetti straps lead to elegant lines of beading on the illusion back, adding subtle but rather spectacular detail.

(8710 | Bonny Essence | Fall 2017) – 8710 is a beautiful A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline and lace straps. The delicate, lace waist detail complements the soft organza gown. A gorgeous feature back is a lovely little ‘surprise’ for this otherwise simplistic design.

(1702 | Bonny Unforgettable | Spring 2017) – This classic and sophisticated wedding gown has a ruched taffeta bodice with a full A-line tulle skirt. Cap sleeves plunge into a V neck and cross over for a flattering waist. If you love this design but want a little more detail, you could add a dazzling belt!

(624 | Bonny Signature | Fall 2016) – This chic, mikado ball gown has a smooth, sweetheart neckline. Its crisp, clean-cut pleats are softened by a small, feminine bows in the front and back. It has a low V back and buttons extended down the train of the gown.

(628 | Bonny Signature | Fall 2016) – Clean and classic best describes this satin ball gown. The gentle pleats on the sweetheart bodice lead your eye to the gorgeous beading on the waist. Button detailing finishes the train.

(6700 | Bonny Love | Signature 2017) – A classic ball gown with a sweet heart neckline and soft V back. The off-the-shoulder cap sleeves and delicate belt are perfect finishing touches to this gorgeous gown.

(1705 | Bonny Unforgettable | Signature 2017) – This organza A-line wedding gown is flattering and gorgeous. It has an illusion neck and cap sleeves over a sweetheart neckline. Beautiful beading decorates the bodice in contrast to a clean cut soft skirt.

(703 | Bonny Signature | Fall 2017) – A lovely A-line wedding dress with straps and a V neckline. A striking embellishment on the waist draws attention to the handkerchief layer on the skirt.

(700 | Bonny Signature | Spring 2017) – 700 is feminine and sweet. A simple sheath gown with a floral lace bodice and bow waistbelt. Lace panels in the sides of the skirt add subtle details to this effortless gown.

(6531 | Bonny Love | Fall 2017) – Gorgeous draped chiffon creates this deconstructed wedding gown. Fine lace covers the shoulders with a cap sleeve that reveals an open lace back. This style is ideal for a casual, beach wedding.

(6606 | Bonny Love | Spring 2016) – 6606 has a simple yet sophisticated look. Its sweetheart neckline has a delicate lace over lay with intricate beadwork carressing the waist. This design is timeless and elegant!
